My box of Easter chocolates that I meant to send on Wednesday is still sitting in my room. I'm going to (try to) mail it tomorrow, so it probably won't get home in time for Easter. I went to the post office on Wednesday to mail it, only to learn that the box I had bought was a domestic box and can only be shipped within France, not to the United States. I was very tempted to tell the clerk, "You know, lady, my country can invade yours like that," but I didn't.

On the way back I stepped into the patisserie and bought myself a cornet. When I stepped out of the patisserie, it had suddenly gotten cloudy. I hadn't brought my umbrella and hoped it wouldn't rain before I got back to the lycée, and it didn't rain. It hailed. Hailed! All the while the wind was blowing so strong that I had to shout to Sarah, who had come with me, just to make myself heard. When I finally got back to the lycée, I curled up in my bed, ate my cornet, and resolved not to set foot outside again until the weather was better. Much better.

Funny Chinese Sarah Moment: Earlier this week I lent Chinese Sarah the DVD of Annie that American Sara sent me. Yesterday morning over breakfast I asked her, "Sarah, did you get to watch the movie I--" Her: "I think is perfect! Is the best movie!" (FYI: My icon for this entry is of the 1999 Annie with Alicia Morton, which I have never seen but want to. The movie I have is the 1982 Annie with Aileen Quinn. I have icons of that too, but they aren't as good as this one.)

Okay, I just finish typing that last paragraph when Sarah comes into the computer room...
Sarah: Rebecca, is raining outside.
Me: *looking out the window* It is?
Sarah: Listen. *makes a sound imitating rainfall*
Me: I don't hear anything.
Sarah: You don't hear? But for me is very loud.

Dear Rebecca, I am exhausted but determined to write you a few lines, I look at your face in a picture on my bullentin board every morning with a wonderful hot cup of coffee with real whipping cream in in. The first cup of the day is always the best. I am looking forward to it right now. It is 10:30 pm on Thurs. You are probably already into Fri. I love peanut M&M's too much and found two bags marked down to 1.00 and bought both of them. This has been a huge 2 dollar mistake because the way it is going I will have to buy 2 new pairs of bigger jeans. I have got to go to bed. Love, aunt connie

What is a cornet?

I think I know why you and Chinese Sarah are friends now-- you have the same taste in (annoying) movies! She seriously makes me laugh. I hope I get to meet her when I come visit. I love that I'm American Sara now! Hee.
