'Round our apartment the languid air does swoon...

I made the mistake of mentioning my asthma prescriptions to Grandma, and now of course the whole family knows and it's become this big deal of, "Rebecca doesn't have her asthma medicine! Rebecca needs her asthma medicine!" Sometimes I'd like to tell Grandma that yeah, I can understand why my mom cut off all contact with her, and maybe I'm tempted to do the same.

Our air conditioner is kaput and won't be fixed until sometime next week. I considered installing our old spare window unit (it wasn't very good, but it'd be better than nothing) but I know I wouldn't install it properly, and we can't have it falling backwards out the window when we're on the second floor. So we're just keeping our fans on and our windows open. It sucks, but it's worse for Sable than it is for Sara and me. At least we can go to our air-conditioned jobs, while he's stuck in the apartment all day. When I came home for my lunch break on Thursday, it was so hot in here that I packed up him, his bed, and his food dish, drove him over to Mom's house, and parked him under the air vent. I spent the rest of the day feeling bad about leaving him alone in the heat, and since I hadn't factored in the time of taking him to Mom's, I was late getting back from my lunch break and Boss Man kept glaring at me.
