Summer breeze makes me feel fine...

I was off yesterday and today, and I actually did some of the things that I've been putting off. Yesterday I went to the eye doctor and got a new prescription for my contacts, then I went to a regular doctor and got one for singulair and albuterol. They were both more expensive that I would have liked, but I couldn't go on without them for much longer. The only thing I didn't do that I've been meaning to is make a dentist appointment. God help me, I don't know how I'll ever work up the nerve for that. Just thinking about it makes my mouth ache.

When I woke up today, our apartment was sweltering, so hot Sable and I were both panting. I realized that our air conditioner wasn't blowing out cool air anymore. It was actually cooler outside than in, so I ran some errands on my bike. Of course that got hot soon too, so I stopped at a gas station for something cold. Remember how good it felt as a little kid to open a big store freezer full of ice cream and popsicles? Well, it still feels that good. I ate a strawberry popsicle as I rode my bike to the nearest pharmacy, excited as Christmas to finally be getting my asthma medication again. Then they told me how much it would cost without insurance, and that sure unplugged my Christmas tree.

But I do think I fixed the problem with the air conditioner. God help us if I didn't, because sleeping without air conditioning is torture. I've still got our windows open now.
