Remember that coworker I mentioned who complains all the time? Well, things came to a head yesterday. As soon as I got to work, he started griping about a really minor thing our manager said. I called him out on it, and he snapped back. We started arguing, and to make a long story short, he said that he was never going to speak to me again. (I was really tempted to say, "Promise? Can I get that in writing?" I was so tired of his constant negativity.) He also unfriended me on Facebook. I think he behaved very immaturely, and I'm sure anyone would agree with me, but so far, I've resisted the temptation to discuss it with anyone else I work with. I hate drama and don't want to generate any more. This person and I will have to continue working together, and I hope we can both act like adults. I'm kinda sad over it, because we used to be friends, but then he turned into such a moper. Oh, well. He'll punish himself better than I ever could.

Anyway, onto happier subjects -- tonight's new NCIS episode!

Notes on episode 9x20 The Missionary Position
(Featuring Samantha Ryan, last seen in The Tell)

Writer: Allison Abner

+ I lol'ed at Jimmy's kitschy tuxedo, and the look on Ziva's face when he mentioned Breena wanting her for one of the bridesmaids. (Couldn't you just hear her thinking, "Abort, abort!") I am so excited to see Jimmy's wedding.

- Gibbs and Ryan's "morning after" scene was painful for me, especially "Somebody else used to say that." I was really surprised he referenced Shannon around her. He avoided telling Hollis Mann, Director Shepherd, and even Ducky about his family for as long as possible.

- Gibbs arriving late to the crime scene? Ugh. It kinda harkened back to Tony's plan in Safe Harbor to find a woman for Gibbs so that he would be less of a workaholic. Now that it could be coming to pass, the team doesn't seem happy about it. (Good. I hate those two together too.)

- "Chaplain Burke had her hands full with us a few months back." Yeah, can somebody remind me why she was even in that arc? She didn't serve any purpose or entertainment value that I can recall.

+ Ducky and Jimmy's autopsy scene -- awww. I am a little disappointed, though, that Ducky bowed out of being the Best Man. He seemed like the best choice to me. God loves a duck!

+ I chuckled at Monique flirting with Gibbs.

+ Ziva pushing to go to Colombia alone rubbed me the wrong way.

+ I love it when Ziva gets to speak Spanish. Cote de Pablo is probably like, "Yes! Finally, a language I don't have to pretend to speak!" And holy cow, how
hot was she in those Colombia scenes? I wanted to lick my screen!

- As an aside, did anyone else find Monique kinda unattractive? But then again, the only woman who could look good standing next to Cote de Pablo is Marion Cotillard!

+ McGee getting to chase down Manny -- yay! It was brief, but McGee almost never gets any action.

+ Tony's scene with Chaplain Castro -- it was nice to see the more serious, thoughtful side of him. It also made me chuckle a little that he had a more meaningful moment with her than he did with Ziva. EW put a Tiva spin on the spoilers for this episode, but there turned out to be almost no Tiva at all! A reminder to us all not to trust the spoilers.

+ Jimmy picking Abby for his "Best Woman" -- oh my gosh, what a great idea! And how cute was their scene together? And Gibbs calling her the "best Best Man for the job" made my heart melt a little. Awww.

- Monique telling Ziva that the case was too dangerous -- oh, the cheesy dialogue. Ugh.

- Gibbs getting pissed at Ryan for not telling him what she knew about the case -- perhaps this will be the wedge that drives them apart. I mean, we all know they won't last. In their scene in Ryan's office, I actually wondered if they were angry or flirting with each other.

+ "The best we can do is find Chaplain Wade and bring her home." Thank you, Tony, for reminding them why they were in Colombia in the first place. I thought for a moment that Ziva and Monique had forgotten.

- So Monique decided to stay in Colombia. This woman is supposed to be important to Ziva, but we've never heard her mentioned before "and never will again, I fancy."

- The final scene of Gibbs and Ryan on his couch -- it was a more much intimate moment than we usually see of Gibbs and his love interests. I mean, he kissed, flirted, and wined and dined with Director Shepherd, Hollis Mann, and Mallison Hartless, but snuggling on the couch like this almost reminded me of the dream/flashback of him in bed with Shannon in Engaged: Part 1. I did not like it. It was also oddly reminiscent of the final scene of him holding Abby at the end of Enemy on the Hill.

I just realized that we're near the end of S9.

The morning after was weird.

And Abby as best woman perfect.

Yeah, Gibbs and Ryan are very intimate.

Ryan was actually my favorite part of the ep, other than Jimmy asking Abby to be his Best Woman. The rest was either replayed, badly played, or damn Christian missionary. (Not that the Ryan thing is played too well - the show has its problems - but at least it's new, and I genuinely like her, when the show is letting her be herself.)
